Radius Volume 1: where the Marília Metropolitana saga begins
36 pages, a world in collapse and the first appearance of Radius, Pituco, Peregrino and Major Pimã. See what the first volume sets up, spoiler-free.

Radius Volume 1 has 36 color pages and opens with a warning: the world you know is over.
A world that is no longer the same
The official synopsis does not start with the hero, it starts with the setting. Nations undone, forests and species wiped out, cities piled together in unchecked disorder. Whole generations grew up in a grey, hostile atmosphere, knowing nothing about their own past. An ever-heavier climate brought plagues and fear, and the rule of the strongest is what counts.
Oppression ruled, hope died. Welcome to 3121, welcome to the age of Radius.
Radius Volume 1 synopsis
It is in this unrecognizable Marília, turned into Marília Metropolitana, that Radius rises, the hero who raises the flag of the resistance.
Who debuts here
In the files of the Radius Universe Archive, the first volume goes by the name Sabotagem, and plenty of characters make their first appearance there:
- Radius: already in action alongside the Aruanda resistance against the Tomorrow Troops and the enemy Plural.
- Pituco: in action alongside Radius and the resistance from the start.
- Peregrino: the speed hero, also in action against the Tomorrow Troops.
- Mestre: receives the escape route report during the attack on the Great Hologram Central.
- Dr. Otium: the scientist who runs the R.A.D.I.U.S. project on Lukas Xagas.
- Major Pimã, Plural and the Tomorrow Troops: the dictator rules Marília Metropolitana, and Plural is sent to face Radius and the resistance in combat.
The starting point is a solo mission. Before Volume 1, Lukas Xagas, a hukeira instructor and one of the leading members of the Tapanhumas, sets out alone to sabotage the Great Hologram Central and is captured. What the R.A.D.I.U.S. project does to him is in Radius's character file. One detail worth reading closely: until the end of the volume, none of his fellow resistance members know who is behind the mask.

From the debut to the awards
Radius was publicly launched on July 2, 2022, in Marília, at an event at UNIMAR that drew more than 350 people and featured the Irmãos Piologo. The following year, the edition won two awards: the Oscar Schrappe Sobrinho, for graphic excellence in Paraná, on June 29, 2023, and the Fernando Pini, for editorial excellence and print finishing, on November 20, 2023.
Today the volume is in the Amazon catalog, in print and digital formats, alongside volumes 2 and 3, the Pituco spin-off and the book Quatro Patas. If you have not read any Radius yet, this is where to start.
