Mestre: the capoeira master who traveled the world before reaching Aruanda
Nobody knows his name. Everyone calls him Mestre. Meet the capoeira master who co-founded hukeira alongside Ci-Jaci.

In the Radius Universe Archive, his "real name" field is marked as classified. It is not missed. The form of address used by everyone, from Radius to the Tapanhumas, is a single one: Mestre.
A pilgrim of capoeira
The file introduces him as a Black Brazilian man, a master of capoeira, the great Brazilian martial art. Before settling anywhere, he wandered through cities all over the world. The goal was to spread the fight and bring hope and strength to whoever he met along the way.
The universe page sums up his role in one line: the capoeira fighter who preserves the fight as a cultural and political expression of the resistance.
The meeting in Aruanda
The journey ended in Aruanda. There, Mestre met Ci-Jaci, the indigenous woman of an age-old lineage who guards knowledge more than 1100 years old. He was enchanted by her and became part of the Tapanhumas.
A new fight was born from that meeting. Mestre joined the capoeira he mastered with Ci-Jaci's huka-huka, and the two created hukeira. Since then, they have fought side by side against Major Pimã's regime. It was with them that Lukas Xagas, the future Radius, learned the art.
The instinct of someone who suspects
Mestre is not only the teacher. In the attack on the Great Hologram Central, he is the one Peregrino reports the escape route to. The file also records caution as his trademark: he was the one who warned the group that they were being followed, before things got worse.
Radius treats him with respect. In Volume 3, when Aruanda is at risk, Mestre is one of the people Radius worries most about finding.
